Lenten Services and Potluck Lunch

MONDAY, MARCH 18 – BEGINNING OF THE GREAT LENT! Please make a real effort to participate in Holy Confession and Communion during this period.
IN PREPARATION FOR THE GREAT LENT when Divine Liturgies are served for the departed Souls of our family members, please submit your memorial booklet for commemoration to the priest. Please arrange to have your loved ones remembered in these special prayers.

LENTEN MEMORIAL SERVICES (Sorokousty) combined with the Divine Liturgy will be held on Sundays March 31, April 7 and 14 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial candles may be purchased at the vestibule table.
LENTEN POTLUCK LUNCH – Sunday, March 24th: In celebration of our church community, we are inviting you to participate in a Potluck Lunch on March 24th immediately following the Liturgy. Please sign the sheet posted on the Bulletin Board in the Auditorium to indicate the type of dish you will be bringing. Please bring all foods to the kitchen by 11am on March 24h. Those who will not be bringing a dish will be requested to pay $5.00 for the lunch. Please plan to join in this first time Lenten event.

Easter (Pascha) Services

APRIL 8 – Palm Sunday: Entry of Christ into Jerusalem. Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. The pussy willows will be blessed at the end of the Holy Liturgy. Following their anointment, the willows will be distributed.

APRIL 9 The beginning of HOLY WEEK: The final week before the observance of Christ’s Resurrection is known as the Holy Week or Passion Week. These are the holiest days of the year, a time for accentuated prayer and fasting. LET US DO WHATEVER WE CAN to observe this final week of the Great Lent.

APRIL 12 – Great and Holy Thursday, Passion of Christ: Reading of the Twelve Gospels at 7:00 p.m. APRIL 13 – Great and Holy Friday: Vespers and bringing out of the HOLY SHROUD (PLASHCHANYTSYA) at 7:00 p.m.

APRIL 14 - Great and Holy Saturday: Acts of the Apostles at 7:00 p.m. Polunoshnytsia at 8:00 p.m.

APRIL 15 - THE RADIANT RUSURRECTION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. HOLY PASCHA. 7:00 A.M. PROCESSION TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE CHURCH; PASCHAL MATINS; PASCHAL HOURS. 8:00 A.M. PASCHAL DIVINE LITURGY. BLESSING OF PASCHAL BASKETS FOLLOWING THE DIVINE LITURGY.

Please note that there will be no confessions heard on Easter morning, April 15th. We suggest that worshippers participate in confession and communion on the Sundays preceding Easter or at the other mid week services prior to Easter.

EASTER FELLOWSHIP HOUR: On Easter Sunday, April 15, following the Blessing of Easter baskets, those who wish to remain and share a Fellowship Hour and their Easter basket foods with other worshipers are cordially invited to do so. SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18 – St. NICHOLAS DAY- Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m. Followed by a short program put on by the Ukranian and Sunday school children, with gifts from St. Nicholas!

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 25 – SERVICE at 10 a. m. Many of our friends are celebrating Christmas according to the New Calendar. We want to greet them with the Joy of this season and the Blessing bestowed on us all with the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

SUNDAY, January 1st – Sunday before the Nativity of Christ – Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

SATURDAY, January 7th – CHRIST’S NATIVITY – Great Compline 9:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

SUNDAY, January 8th – SYNAXIS of the THEOTOKOS – Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

MONDAY, January 9th – FIRST MARTYR STEPHEN – Service at 10:00 a.m.

SATURDAY, January 14th – JULIAN NEW YEAR – Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, January 18th – The Eve of the Theophany: 6:00 p.m Festal Vespers with the Great Blessing of Water. A Parish Theophany Meal (Spil’na Kutia) will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. We extend a warm welcome to one and all to join us in this special celebration.

THURSDAY, January 19th – The Holy Theophany of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: 9:30 a.m. hours; 10:00 Divine Liturgy followed by the Great Blessing of Water.

THIS YEAR OUR CHRISTMAS falls on a Saturday. We hope that all our parishioners will join us in the Services with prayers to Glorify our New born Christ Child. On Saturday, January 7th, the Christmas Services will begin with Great Compline at 9:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m.

All members and visitors are urged to attend these Services.
