Roman and Parish Executive wish to extend their good wishes to His Eminence Yurij, Archbishop of Winnipeg and the Central Diocese, Metropolitan of Canada; Their Graces Bishops Ilarion and Andriy; all the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada, all members and adherents of the Cathedral Parish; our Youth, the Cathedral Choir, all Ukrainian organiza- tions and all the people in Ukraine and throughout the world. May the peace and love generated by this Holy event prevail amongst us for many days to come.

Christmas & New Year’s Service Schedule

nativity icon 199x300 Christmas & New Years Service ScheduleFor the Christmas and New Year’s Celebrations, Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Day Services will be held as follows:

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18 – St. NICHOLAS DAY- Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m. Followed by a short program put on by the Ukranian and Sunday school children, with gifts from St. Nicholas!

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 25 – SERVICE at 10 a. m. Many of our friends are celebrating Christmas according to the New Calendar. We want to greet them with the Joy of this season and the Blessing bestowed on us all with the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

SUNDAY, January 1st – Sunday before the Nativity of Christ – Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

SATURDAY, January 7th – CHRIST’S NATIVITY – Great Compline 9:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

SUNDAY, January 8th – SYNAXIS of the THEOTOKOS – Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

MONDAY, January 9th – FIRST MARTYR STEPHEN – Service at 10:00 a.m.

SATURDAY, January 14th – JULIAN NEW YEAR – Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, January 18th – The Eve of the Theophany: 6:00 p.m Festal Vespers with the Great Blessing of Water. A Parish Theophany Meal (Spil’na Kutia) will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. We extend a warm welcome to one and all to join us in this special celebration.

THURSDAY, January 19th – The Holy Theophany of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: 9:30 a.m. hours; 10:00 Divine Liturgy followed by the Great Blessing of Water.

THIS YEAR OUR CHRISTMAS falls on a Saturday. We hope that all our parishioners will join us in the Services with prayers to Glorify our New born Christ Child. On Saturday, January 7th, the Christmas Services will begin with Great Compline at 9:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m.

All members and visitors are urged to attend these Services.
