Parish Choir

The Ukrainian Orthodox Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is rich with traditional music and beautiful hymns written by such classical composers as Bortniansky, Berezovky and Stetsenko, amongst others.

Our Cathedral Choir is a small but dedicated group of volunteers who love to sing. We are blessed with the talent and energy of our Music Director, Willi Zwozdesky, one of the foremost choral conductors in Canada. Mr. Zwozdesky challenges our choir and gives more depth to our singing and repertoire and has introduced us to many new compositions, including his own arrangements and original music.

Most Sundays we meet in the Mezzanine of the Hall attached to the Cathedral for practice starting at 9 am. We are always looking for new members and have a particular need for more tenors and basses. Some of our Choir members do not speak or read Ukrainian but sing with us by following the transliteration of the various hymns and other church music. If you are interested in singing with us, please leave a message at this website or attend one of our Sunday mornings practices.
